Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from architects, developers and contractors evaluating the GPE Series for their next project.

What is the difference between GPE 3000, 5000, 7000 and 9000?
The four models cover different building scales. GPE 3000 is a compact MRL unit for residential buildings up to 20 stops. GPE 5000 handles mid-rise commercial and hospitality applications up to 30 stops. GPE 7000 adds panoramic glass cabin options for showcase lobbies. GPE 9000 is the high-speed MR model for towers up to 120 m travel, with AI destination dispatch and group control for up to 8 cars.
How do I choose between MRL and MR configurations?
Machine-room-less (MRL) design saves shaft headroom and is ideal for buildings under 90 m where space efficiency matters most — typical for residential and mid-rise commercial projects. Machine-room (MR) configuration is recommended for travel above 90 m or when high-speed operation (2.0–2.5 m/s) is required, as it provides easier maintenance access for traction machines and controllers. Our engineering team will recommend the optimal configuration after reviewing your shaft drawings and traffic study.
What shaft dimensions and building provisions are required?
Shaft width varies by model and rated load — typical values range from 1,800 mm for GPE 3000 (630 kg) up to 2,600 mm for GPE 9000 (2000 kg). Pit depth requirements are 1,400–1,600 mm depending on speed, and overhead clearance is 3,800–4,500 mm. Full GA drawings, shaft tolerances and load-bearing wall specifications are provided in the downloadable technical brochure, and we offer free shaft review during the quotation stage.
Which international standards do GPE elevators comply with?
All GPE Series elevators are designed and certified to EN 81-20 / EN 81-50 (European lift safety), GB 7588 (Chinese national standard) and ISO 4180 (international lift performance). CE marking, EMC compliance and TÜV type-examination certificates are available on request. For destination dispatch and AI control systems, BluePilot v4 is certified as an embedded safety component under the Machinery Directive.
